Hi there, have you tried to manually install Hotkey package? Here is the download page: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-edge-e440/downloads/DS031814

If you install version 8.8625 I found that it will only work until you reboot. The issue I found was the TPHKLOAD services is not starting properly even though it is set to start automatically.

My solutions was to create a bat file which I put a short cut to in my startup to start the service. :

1) Create a file START LENOVO.BAT with the following contents:

NET START TPHKLOAD

2) Create a desktop shortcut to the bat file.

3) Change the properites of the desktop shortcut to run as Administrator

4) Put the shortcut in your start folder

This sounds like the problem with Lenovo PM Driver version 1.67.14.05.

In Control Panel -> Device Manager, go to System Devices and roll back the driver for Lenovo PM Device to an earlier version.

The faulty driver was supposed to have been removed from System Update so I'm surprised it installed on your laptop.
