Think Pad Edge E540, Type 20C6003QXS

Hi,

 

I have a problem with wifi. After installing windows 8.1 my wifi always disconnect. I have to restart my notebook for repair it. Please help me. I cant start do nothing important with my notebook, while there is this problem.

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

 

I’m sorry to hear that Wifi of your Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E540 is not working properly.

 

Go to Device manager and expand Network adapters – right click on Wifi adapter (Intel or Realtek) click on properties – go to Power Management and uncheck ‘Allow computer to turn off this device to save power’.

Hi Hemanth,

 

I did it before few weeks, but it not helped.

 

I spoke today with Microsoft, and they told me, that i should download and install a driver from your site.

I downloaded driver from here:

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-edge-e5...

and installed this driver: Ericsson N5321gw Wireless WAN Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - ThinkPad Edge E440, Edge E540

 

Was it a good step? It was before a few hours and my laptop was not disconnected from wifi yet.

 

But I have a new problem. I am connected to wifi. IE, Chrome and Mozilla is working properly and internet is good. But if i go to start menu and i choose any apps frome there, for example: messages, lenovo support, weather, one drive etc. It writes me, that i am offline or not connected, and i have to be connected to internet.

Installing a driver not helped, so i hope,  that you have another idea. Notebook still disconecting from wifi.

Thank you for the reply!

 

The driver which you have downloaded from the support site is wrong and it is related to Wireless WAN it is different hardware which is not shipped with your system as per the provided MTM number (20C6003QXS). I request you to uninstall the driver which you have installed (Ericsson N5321gw Wireless WAN Driver).

 

To update the driver please download Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Driver from support site.
