ThinkPad E580 - Blue Screen, Freezing, WiFi disconnection, Kernel Processor Power issues

Hi,

 

Hope you are all doing fine.

We are writing to you in regards to multiple issues we are facing with a specific laptop model, Lenovo ThinkPad E80 (Total 16 machines).

The errors being sporadic in nature are as follows - freezing, blue screens, wifi adapter, kernel processor power issues.

We have done the following as initial troubleshooting, but, the issues still persists,

  • Update all firmware and drivers using Lenovo System Update
  • Complete Hardware scan using Lenovo Diagnostics and Lenovo Solution Center
  • Resetting Windows 10 Pro x64 to factory default
  • Reinstalling Windows 10 Pro x64 via latest clean download iso from windows

Kindly advise, if these are known issues with Lenovo TP E580 specific model only, as we have E560, E570 models, which are working fine.

For reference we can use this Serial Number - PF18XZ87.

 

Awaiting your response on the resolution of the same.

After a lot scanning and probing the event viewer, performing hardware scans, trying to isloate the problem(without any Support from Lenovo Support), I feel, its the Wireless Adaptor most of the time, not receiving syncronized power from the processor/board and hence causing these frequest blue screen errors.

In the end, I backed up the data of my users and did clean reboot of Windows 10 using the ISO and/or reset windows 10 to clean all drives.

Re installed all updates for drivers and frimware from Windows and Lenovo with basic softwares and asked the users to be connected to LAN.

Touchwood, no complains since then.

Please let me know if there is a quicker and easier way around this.

Hi AdnanSpeedy! Was there any recent update or any changes before the issue arise? Try running the update through the Lenovo Vantage app instead. Install all available updates. If the issue persist, run the hardware test under the same app. And also, it would help if you could provide the exact error code of the messages you are getting. Let us know.
