ThinkPad Edge 14 horizontal green/pink screen flicker

I've been noticing a millisecond-long horizontal flicker on my screen while playing videos on youtube for a day or two. Yesterday it did it one more time and now it's on all the time. Here's a photo of it: http://i39.tinypic.com/25jxmh1.jpg note that this is one line written in black colour on a white background. I haven't dropped or hit it. It's out of warranty so I could open it if necessary. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: ThinkPad Edge 14 horizontal green/pink screen flicker

Does it occur on external LCD? Does pushing on the back of the LCD change the behaviour?

This is usually the LCD panel, cable or the GPU or motherboard related.

Cable is the cheapest and easiest to check, followed by change of LCD panel, the GPU would mean change of motherboard, which can be expensive.

Here is the hardware manual that shows you how to open up the laptop screen.

The image is clear when I'm using an external screen. Pushing the back of the lcd didn't do anything

Re: ThinkPad Edge 14 horizontal green/pink screen flicker

You should open up the laptop and check the cable on the motherboard and screen end. You may need a new LCD from the looks of it.
