It seems at the time a couple of weeks ago after Google changed their logo with the paintbrush, my Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E520 LCD screen started showing some small green lines in the middle upper part of the screen. They seem to be spreading a little and are now about one half inch by one half inch. When it boots up and the Microsoft logo comes on and most of the screen is black, I don't see the green lines. I can see the cursur continually when I move it across the green lines. Do I need a new screen? Any other suggestions? Thank you.
Mod's Edit: System model added to front of Subject line to improve visibility / clarity.

Windows 7 Professional. To update the Intel HD 3000 Graphics card, I logged into the Lenovo site, downloaded and installed the Intel graphics update. It also installed an AMD graphics program. I rebooted and a comand prompt screen came up automatically and ran for several minutes. (Even though the screen was mostly black, I could still see the green lines. I also ran the Lenovo check up that was on my laptop and it did not find anything wrong. No change in the little green lines after running both of these.

Kindly try to connect the machine to an External monitor to check if the lines will appear on the External monitor or not.
Also, Try to go to the BIOS setup page by Pressing the Key F1 while the machine is starting up and advise back if the lines are visible on the BIOS.
