I bought the ThinkPad Edge E530 (3259), but after many attempts, I managed to install bluetooth.
I press Fn + F5 to open the control panel to enable the WiFi and Bluetooth radios, I installed acces point.
In the Control Panel under "Device Manager" in the control panel have any yellow exclamation sign if its your bluetooth device or bluetooth not written anywhere.
The BIOS is included enable Bluetooth.
I start installing one of the two drivers, I get this message

I'm also having problems with finding a way to enable the Bluetooth adapter. Unusual is that the Wi-Fi is working (I think the adapter for Wi-Fi and for Bluetooth is the same), but bluetooth doesn't. Hope to find a solution soon!

I have some problem with E530 Bluetooth, too. I have installed and activated BT successfull, the phone and the laptop can see each other, but when I try to send a photo from my phone to the laptop, it couldn't recieve it. Nothing happens, or appears. There is file send option in the BT manager screen but there is not file recieve option. What's wrong, any ideas? Thanks.

Hi! How did you managed to successfully enable your Bluetooth adapter? I haven't found a way to do that yet. My wireless works just fine, but my Bluetooth adapter doesn't appear in Device Manager and I get the errors posted by the author of this thread. And I don't think it is because I do not have a Bluetooth adapter at all because in Microsoft Office I can see the option "Send to Bluetooth", but when I click it nothing happens. Also, if I access my notification area (in the right of the Windows 7 start bar) I can see the symbol system process that refers to Bluetooth, but when I select "show icon and notification" I get a message that says that "this icon isn't curently active. It will be shown the next time it becomes active". So, any solution to that? When you enabled your Blutooth function you just simply installed the drivers and it worked?

I am having the very same problem, but I am running Windows 8 64bit. I found from some forum that it could be BIOS that needs update. I'll try to install it from here http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT073274 and will report to here how it went.

Hello. I made that update to BIOS some time ago, but nothing changed. Any other sugestions? I'm starting to think this laptop does not have that adapter in it or something... Also, do you know if any engineers from Lenovo or some specialists are in this forum. I'm thinking to write them about my problem and maybe receive an answer with a solution or something. Thanks!
