According to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ Intel seems to be more powerfull with 991points vs. 831points (intel vs AMD) but if I am mistaken, dont hesitate to correct me. I am currently deciding between amd and intel version. So this topic is really interesting to me.

i was talking about ThinkPad Edge Intel Model and Edge AMD Model .. it s not CPU compare only , got it ??
well many ppl i think decided to buy AMD model of Edge .. because it has extra Graphics card like ATI Radeon HD 3200 - 128 mb but Intel has integrated Graphics Accelerator..
so AMD is better i guess .. your benchmark points wont be really realised while using the Edge laptop pratically .. did u get my dear friend ?

Though it's only one synthetic benchmark, it does compare favorably to tests also using GeekBench
overall, i'm very happy with the AMD Edge as a portable machine for email, browsing, and typing - probably not so great for heavy content creation but i'm thinking some light coding will be fine as well. Besides, when I got mine, it was about $150 USD cheaper than the Intel version - so I bought a larger hard drive =)
