I have a Thinkpad E550 the laptop runs fine and the batter has no issues.
Problem is when i plug in the ac adapter to charge the battery nothing happens it doesnt even show the plugged in icon..
I take out the battery and plug in the AC and still nothing. A friend pluged in the AC on his laptop and it starts to charge so the AC adapter is fine.
It did fall on the carpet from two feet up but didnt show signs of any issue.
What is the best way to resolve this.

sadly I could tell the same story... More precisely it indicates that the AC adapter is plugged in but the battery is not in charge.
I went through Lenovo settings, it says tat the battery is ok but there is a message like that : "Use of the battery has been stopped, because the temperature of the battery is too high". Maybe that can give an idea to anybody about this permanent issue ? Any information about a temperature probe for the battery that I could check ?
Maybe a BIOS update could solve this problem, but again impossible to run it without a fully charged battery !
Thanks for the help,
