Same problem here, I have the Lenovo ThinkPad E580 with AMD Radeon RX 550.
So we all getting it. I don't understand a desktop our gfx will be in use 24/7. apparently this, alternates between on board and our 550. **bleep** is this?! a waste of money if you ask me lol

If you download and install drivers from AMD website. The AMD GPU will run at 100% but get really hot
Can you confirm which one exactly? because when I go direct x it still says on board is in use. not my raedon mx 550.
also how are you sure the on board isn't being used? because in bios display I have no option to choose my 550.
when I install catalyst it doesn't install anything so I can go onto a setting and choose 550. also in AMD settings I have no display option to choose my 550.
this is madness lol...

At the bottom there is an option for download now. It will auto dedect the system and download required drivers.
so I've installed it, but how can I be sure?
installing it my laptop doesnt even know its installed. I have no amd settings anywhere. not on desktop. my device manager says it's still an old version and even in start>search amd file is missing. I'm getting sick of this

I'll just join here saying that I am also experiencing problems with the RX 550. Considering that the 1.14 version of bios introduces changes to thermal management (from changelog) it makes sense that downgrade to version 1.13 actually helps. I really hope that Lenovo will address this problem and fix the thermal management in next bios update so it's possible to play games on the dedicated gpu without periodical massive framerate drops.
