Recently I been trying to listen to some music on my laptop with sony or samsung headset and it seems like lef and right channels get mixed up and I I hear is phasing and distorted music.
I'm using headsets from cellphone one from samsung and one from sony. These headsets have microphone and little answer button on them so maybe they are incompatible right?
I was able to use sony headset with skype one time even sound quality was not that good... Microphone worked and I could hear stuff.
What about listening music? Do I need to buy third headset?

Try and update your audio driver. This should help greatly with the sound quality. Here is the link for your computers audio driver:
Hope this helps,

You may want to at least try a normal headset (one without a mic) I have a similar cell phone headset with a mic and I often have audio problems when just listening to music with them on my laptop.
Alex offers a great suggestion in updating the audio drivers but this seems like a problem with the headsets themselves. Do you encounter problems with audio through the Thinkpad speakers?
