Re: Thinkpad Edge 15 usable memory

Correct the .51gb has gone to the GPU. the 4th GB will not be used since you have a 32bit OS. You need to get a 64bit OS to use all of the 4 gigs of ram.

There's a difference between addressable memory and  usable memory as stated in the KB article, so what's your point?

Re: Thinkpad Edge 15 usable memory

You can't. Any operative system reserves memory for "internal use".

Re: Thinkpad Edge 15 usable memory

Did you check inside BIOS Setup? Maybe there's an option that allows you to change shared memory amount.
