Thinkpad Edge 430 Bluetooth

Hi,

I have a thinkpad edge 430 and notice that in the settings>change pc settings> wireless, I have a bluetooth option. Does that mean I have bluetooth? If so how can I scan for devices?

I tried going to devices but all I can see is a "second screen"option. And my phone (samsung galaxy s2) also can't detect my computer's bluetooh.

Thanks

Re: Thinkpad Edge 430 Bluetooth

Hi, aaaaa

Your machine should have Bluetooth capability. I would first recommend making sure the driver for your Bluetooth device is up to date, which can be found here.

Once that is updated, you should be able to scan for devices by navigating to Settings ► Change PC settings ► Devices and selecting Add a device. If your goal is to connect your computer and mobile phone together, then make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile phone. If you continue to lack the Add a device in this menu, could you please take a screenshot with Snipping Tool and post it here?

Thanks in advance,

Adam

Re: Thinkpad Edge 430 Bluetooth

Hi again, aaaaa

Glad it's working!

As for a Bluetooth headset, there should be no issues with connecting it to your machine. The steps should be the same as before. Following pairing and connecting, you should be able to use this headset with Skype.

Hope it helps,

Adam

Re: Thinkpad Edge 430 Bluetooth

Hi,

I have got my bluetooth headset. Tested it with skype on my phone, it works great (both earpiece and mic).

Now I paired it with my E430 computer, the earpiece works fine with skype, But skype is still taking my voice through the mic in my computer and not my bluetooth device.

Is my settings wrong?

Thanks
