Got two Thinkpad Edge 530, one of them has and error and states only 3 days left to activate Windows.
I spoke with Lenovo they said they were aware of the issue and would update me when they had a fix.
I managed to get the windows serial number from the working laptop and entered it into one with the fault and this failed also.
I have also done a recovery from the recover partitition and from recovery media get the same fault. Both of these format the hard drive. I am out of ideas and need to get this laptop out the door.
Any one else got any ideas? Seen this issue before? Much appreciated

Never mind just figured out what the issue was.
The working laptop BIOS shows a Preinstalled OS License - Win8 Pro DPK TPG
The one that has the fault doesn't have this entry in the BIOS, both ordered and delivered at the same time.

I purchased two E530's several days a part, with 6274 machine type.
They both had no product key sticker which I hadn't seen yet.
I followed the instructions that came with the Windows 8 media for the upgrade, but both systems can't activate.
I even restored one to Windows 7, but the product key was invalid in Windows 7 as well. System wouldn't activate.
Did you ever get this resolved?

After over a week and chasing daily Lenovo are currently checking to see if the laptop can be returned DOA.
Really not impressed with the customer service. Selling clearly faulty goods and no quick or easy way of returning them.
I have ran out of excuses to tell the customer.
