I just bought a new Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E440 about 2 months ago and now I have this vertical line at the middle of my screen. I called the service centre and they said I had to leave my work laptop there for a week while waiting for replacement from HQ. How am I suppose to work now without my laptop? How can Thinkpad be so fragile and not as robust as I think it was? I'm now a bit regretted for choosing Lenovo.

my E440 developed a vertical line after 11 months of usage. i brought it to lenovo service center in my city. they said it will be done in max 2 week-time. i will update on the outcome

Hope the LCD screen will last after the replacement. Once the warranty expires and it happens again, we'll be stuck with the defect forever or spend money to repair the defect they conveniently know will happen again. I have yet to send mine for repair. Too bad Lenovo does not have on-site replacement support like Dell.
