Thinkpad Edge E540: Compatible Memory

Hey,

Is there a list of compatible memory with Thinkpad Edge E540?

I want to get either Crucial or Gskill, but not sure which module sets from those manufacturers are compatible with the E540.

Looking at DDR3 1.35 and 1.5v memory sets with 2 x 4gb sticks

Re: Thinkpad Edge E540: Compatible Memory

Hello !

I've bought a 8GB module from Crucial which works flawlessly into my 20C600JHFR (E540).

I choose it using the memory configurator on the Crucial site. It gave me the list of P/N fitting my machine and bought a 8GB module to complement the Samsung 4GB module fitted at the factory.

Bear in mind that the bigger module MUST be in slot 0 and the lesser one in slot 1.

Hope this helps.

Re: Thinkpad Edge E540: Compatible Memory

Just a reminder that you must use 1.35V memory with Haswell CPUs (ix-4xxx). Haswell will not take 16GB sticks.

Other than that, anything DDR3-1333 and above should work.
