My Thinkpad was working fine last night, and I shut it down as normal with no problems. This morning I went to turn it on, the power light and fan came on etc but there is no display, not a backlit black screen or anything just completely dead. I tried different memory, hard drive in it and still nothing. I also tried plugging into another monitor to see if it was a problem with the screen but no luck.
I have tried many times to turn it on, one of the times I turned it on and it loaded up as normal, then I shut it down and now it won't turn on again. The fan seems to be running extremely loudly when it turns on as well. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks

To me, it sounds like the machine is having severe difficulties in rendering video, which would explain why neither the LCD nor the external monitor are showing anything, except for that one time. If I had to make a guess, I would think that the video card or the systemboard is to blame, so one of those would need to be replaced. If your Edge machine only has an integrated graphics card, then it would be the systemboard, which is a good place to start. If possible, I would contact Lenovo at 08705-500-900 and discussing the issue with them.
Hope it helps,
