Touchpad Customization

2012-06-27, 10:38 AM

Hello Everyone,

I just acquired an E320 and first I installed Ubuntu on it. What I really liked was that Ubuntu seemed very capable of taking full advantage of the trackpad as in recognizing gestures, allowing multitouch, allowing pinch-to-zoom, disabling the trackpad while typing (so the cursor won't just randomly move if I accidentally touch the trackpad), etc. For reasons I am not going to describe here, I switched to Windows 7 (actually 8 beta, but it is completely equivalent with 7 in this aspect) and all these cool features just disappeared and I cannot find a way to somehow enable them via the Windows' settings. Is there any specific product for this purpose, like a driver from Synaptics, or something like that I could install and use the Trackpad as it should be used? Any suggestions are much appreciated.

tl;dr: Windows can't handle the Trackpad, what can I do to improve this?

Thanks,

Ben
