Re: Unsatisfied with Lenovo Thinkpad E530 after several problems

Hi

I just bought a Thinkpad E530 a couple weeks ago and I am not very happy at all, because of the following issues (which I am sure won't be the only ones.... wait and see):

1. The battery drains substantially while the computer is on "hibernate" mode. It does not last as long as it is advertised at all. I already have the latest Lenovo updates and my Fingerprint Reader is turned off. Also the Blutooth is off. The "Always On USB" is off too. So, I think either Lenovo built this model with low-quality batteries or Lenovo's BIOS is terrible. Or even worse, all of Lenovo's laptop parts are not tested properly before being released to buyers.

2. I keep getting a message saying "Thermal Sensor Error" whenever my computer wakes up.

3. The SSD cache wasn't installed from factory. I had to install it myself after realizing this.

4. I got a weird Dolby error message after updating to the latest Lenovo updates, and had to troubleshoot this myself until I got it fixed.

I switched to Lenovo, because my HP Pavilion was letting me disappointed by overheating and I had read that ThinkPads were the only computers authorized to the Space Station, but now I am starting to think that switching to Lenovo computers was a huge mistake, as my HP lasted for 7 straight years without giving me any problems. Maybe they work better in outter space?

Next, time I'll go for a brand that is more expensive but actually tests its products.

I really hope I get a possitive answer from Lenovo on how to fix my laptop problems, otherwise "shame" on Lenovo for selling bad quality, poorly functional products.

Looking forward to Lenovo's feedback.

Cheers,

Re: Unsatisfied with Lenovo Thinkpad E530 after several problems

That thermal sensing error means that sensor isn't working and you should get the systemboard replaced. Mine gave the error (and a fan error, and a non working usb port) on day two, but the shop where I bought it gave me a new one.

The Dolby error was posted here before, and the solution is to remove the conexant HD audio driver and run the update software again.

There are definately some bios issues on these laptops, but Lenovo support can't replicate the issues everyone is having.
