Wifi card whitelist for Thinkpad Edge E130

Hi, is there a whitelist of what wifi cards I can use in my thinkpad Edge E130?

I've tried an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 and I get the "unauthorised card".

I need a wifi card that does Bluetooth and 2.4/5ghz (dual band) 802.11a/n/b/g. The Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230(or 6235) looks like it will fit the fill, but I need to know it's on the whitelist before I buy one.

Anyone know where I can check before buying the thing? Any official word on this?

Re: Wifi card whitelist for Thinkpad Edge E130

Nice copy and paste there. Smiley Happy Is there some way I can get access to the ACTUAL MAC/PCI/Hardware model list of acceptable pcie wifi cards that will work, so i'm not blowing money on something that is "unauthorised"? I'm looking at the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wifi card. Will this work in my E130?

That is the list that is supported by Lenovo.

http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/E130_FRU_BOM.pdf

these are the fru no. of the compatible wireless card, make sure you purchase them and not generic aftermarket version, which won't be compatible with the thinkpad.

Re: Wifi card whitelist for Thinkpad Edge E130

Argh, I need the actual PCI-ID's of compatible cards, so I know what to buy. But, i've bought a "Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n + Bluetooth" card that's listed as being compatible, so i'm expecting it to work.

Don't think there is a PCI-ID list of the compatible card, and not least none that is accessible to the general public.

Re: Wifi card whitelist for Thinkpad Edge E130

So, I bought an Intel "Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n + Bluetooth" and I get the "unauthorised card" message on POST. Please tell me how I can make it accept the card that is listed as being compatible.

Re: Wifi card whitelist for Thinkpad Edge E130

where did you get the card from? does it have the Lenovo FRU that corresponds to the list in my other link?

Re: Wifi card whitelist for Thinkpad Edge E130

How does anything on that FRU list correspond to any wifi card I can buy? I don't see any PCI-ID's or names of chipsets or card vendors in there. Which one corresponds to "Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n + Bluetooth" I bought it from a shop that said that the card works with the Thinkpad E series.
