Have e430, working great for 6 months. I would like to replace the Realtek 1x1 card.
Does a 1x1 wifi card have two antenna wires, needed by an Intel 2x2.
What is the FRU for the Intel 2x2 card with Bluetooth, and where can I buy it online. Does it have to be a Lenovo part?

Hey there solr_07666,
The E430, like most models that I am aware of, have a whitelist that dictates what you LAN/WAN cards you are able to install into the machine. Looking at the options that were available for your machine, I was able to locate the following:
60Y3195 2 FRU 6250 WiMax ( I was able to link information about the WiMax)
60Y3247 2 FRU FXC 11WLAN
60Y3249 2 FRU LTN 11WLAN
Additionally, the E430 also shipped with a 11b/g/n, PCIe Half Mini Card, Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth combo adapter, 2x2 o..., and this may work for you as well, as the WiMax will not provide the bluetooth.
Hopefully this provide some insight for you Sol.

Thanks for the info.
I spent a few hours scouring the parts lists and found the same info.I found the Intel 6250 on amazon for $10. Will it work, or does the bios prevent non-lenov parts from being used?

A generic 6250 won't pass the white list. The card doesn't have to be from Lenovo, but it has to be for Lenovo and have the FRU that listed.
I did a search at Amazon for "60Y3195 2 FRU 6250 WiMax" and some of the marketplace sellers claim their boards have the correct FRU. Those should work for you.
If the laptop already has twin antennas installed.

The whitelist requires that the model is within the whitelist, not whether it is provided by Lenovo. Now, installing a part not provided by Lenovo may cause warranty issues. While it is a CRU part, it would be prudent to check with service to ensure that installing the part would not have an implication in the event of an issue came up due to the installation, and they may be able to provide the best course of action as well as selling the part to you as a Parts-Only Order, which will also ensure that it is a correct FRU part.
Hopefully this will provide you with some guidance in your decision.

Beware that many of the cards on Amazon don't work. I ordered one described as "Intel Advanced-n Wimax 6250 622anx 622anxhmw Pci-e 802.11a/b/g/n Wlan Adapter for Ibm Lenovo Thinkpad" with FRU 60Y3195 and it didn't work on my E430 because of the whitelist. Other reviewers said theirs did work. Apparently it depends on who the seller is. Mine had a not very official sticker on the back with no regulatory markings.
I just ordered one from Ebay, that showed a picture of the back having a more official looking sticker. Hopefully it works.
Is there any place to buy legitimate cards that are guaranteed to work? Neither Lenovo nor NewEgg seem to carry them.
