I recently purchased an e530 3259ju with intel 3000 graphics. I took a chance and purchased a 1920 x 1080 replacement screeen from laptopscreens.com for $85 (it was a replacemnet for a w530). I installed it an now I have a full hd screen that looks beautiful! Its's been a month now with no problems and I use it at least 10 hours a day.

No I didn't. You can download the service manual on this site or laptopscreen.com has videos showing step by step. It's one of the easiest screens to remove that I have done. Only 4 screws on the bezel and another 6 or 8 to remove from the mounting frame. My laptop is an thinkpad edge e530 3259-7ju, it worked on this but I can't speak to other models. I wasn't paying attention when I ordered and got the matte screen, I wish I had a glossy screen but it's still really nice.

sorry for the poor quality photos, taken from my phone. I always keep the res at 1920x1080, even though the text is really small, it's really clear and easy to read. I always hated seeing the pixels on 1366x768 screens. Now I have to see if a Blu-ray drive is available for this.

Awesome upgrade!!!
This really pulls me towards the idea of getting an E530, but I am thinking about the model with the nVidia graphics. Does anybody know if this kind of mod can also be done to the E530 with nVidia graphics? If that's so, it is definitively a must to make the upgrade, since I can get a E530 with discrete graphics for 577€ ($746) here in Germany, and the screen around 60€ - 70€. I was not sure about this model because of the screen. I actually own an E525 (AMD version), and despite of the fact that it is a very good and reliable machine, the screen pretty much sucks and it is not possible to upgrade to a 1080p screen.
I tip my hat for you, good mod! And thanks in advance for your help!

That's a really good upgrade.
I have a Lenovo E530 3529 AL9 bought in Australia. It came with a 1366x768 res screen. I want to upgrade it like the OP did.
Do I need anything other than the new screen itself?
I emailed laptopscreen.com about an upgrade to 1600x900 and got this reply:
"Upgrading from 1366x768 to 1600x900 resolution is strongly not recommended, as these 2 resolutions use different video cables."
Is this opinion misinformed? It sounds like the OP did it without needing a new video cable. Thanks

On a lot of the older laptops with flourescent lit screens that was true. Those screens required an inverter to power the
flourescent backlight. The LED backlit screens don't use those. The screen I purchased was listed as a replacement for a W530. I figured if the 3000 graphics of the E530 will support external graphics over 1920 x 1080, 2500 x 1500 or something like that it the replacement screen would should work. It has been almost 8 months now and I have never had any issues at all. I didn't need to change any settings either, once the screen was installed, the the graphics card just recognized it as a1920 x 1080 monitor and worked. I'm, now checking to see if I can upgrade to an i7 processor, an option on the new Edge series. The main reason i would like to do this is some of the i7 chips have intel 4000 graphics which I read is quite an improvment over the 3000. I'm not sure if my e530 has the correct socket for the chip i'm looking for. Also a blu-ray drive would be nice, but the drive is a 9mm drive and all of those tend to be around 200.00.
