wlan card in pcie slot for wan card in E520 ?

I've put a wlan card but it didn't get recognized by ubuntu or windows.

Is it possible to use that port for anything other than wan/msata ?

I used a half card (bcm94313hmg2l) without adapter, just placed a piece of plastic on top of it to push it down, so maybe it's not making contact.

Re: wlan card in pcie slot for wan card in E520 ?

WLAN card 100% is not physically connected.

Because...

...When you will connect it properly, notebook won't boot and say something like "Illegal WLAN/WAN card, please remove it!"

This is white-list  (of wireless WAN and WiFi cards) issue. Only approved by Lenovo cards are allowed.

But! You can by your own risk, download  modified bios with whitelist removed.

Where can I find a list of approved cards ?
And is it possible to use a second, approved, wifi card in that slot ?
