Wifi disabled on ThinkPad E450, E550, E450c, E550c with Windows 10

Symptoms

Some early shipment ThinkPad E450, E550, E450c, E550c preloaded with Windows 10 and equipped with

Intel Wireless 3160AC may encounter disabled wifi symptoms or may be unable to connect to the  Access Point.

Diagnosis

Microsoft Windows 10 Preload with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 module.

Solution

The following setps can be used  to re-enable the Wireless LAN device:

1. Boot to Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
2. Press “Win Key” + “X”.
3. Choose Device Manager.
4. The Device Manager window will pop up.
5. Go to Network adapters -> Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 device.
6. Right click on the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 device and then choose “Enable”.
7. The device will scan and refresh one time.
