My daughter just started using this device and after 5 days, there is no sound. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, updating, trying headphones and nothing is working. Would it help to try and reset the whole computer?

As I understand that you are facing issue in your ThinkPad Yoga 11E in which there is no sound output.
Before resetting your system try to check the speakers on Windows generic drivers. And please have a look on this article & let us know about any update
