L512 cpu socket

Hello!

 

I have lenovo l512 product id:259842U

What motherboard are on my laptop? Is there any detailed specification?

 

As google said for my processor i5 520m there are two socket types BGA1288, PGA988. What of them is mine?

download HWinfo32 or 64 version, and it will tell you what sort of socket format you have.

Ball Grid Array = soldered cpu.

The L512 should have a removable CPU, not a soldered on CPU like on the X and T4x0s series laptops.

It is 988 socket!

 

I have to replace my cpu so I thinking to get some, more powerfull, cpu model, that can fit to the l512 motherboard.

I`m wonder something like i7-2630QM can fit.

 

Unfortunately any quad-core processors has minimum 45w tdp.

t is dangerous to put 45w processor to 35w designed laptop?
