L530 DDR3L and max memory

2015-02-27, 8:42 AM

Hello,

I wanted to ask, because I can't find good answers anywhere, the following 3 questions:

1. The Thinkpad L530 (Intel core i3 3110M) supports DDR3L memory modules or not?

2. What is the maximum memory I can install? I see some saying that only 8GB and others saying 16.

3. What is the best RAM for this model that money can buy?

Thank you all, and sorry if I offended anyone with my apparent lack of knowledge.

1) I don't remember, but 1.35V modules should be able to run at 1.5V as well.

2) Should be 16GB (2x8GB). Don't think single 16GB sticks work.

3) Corsair's had trouble with ThinkPads in the past. Other than that, RAM is pretty generic; I'd pick the one with the best warranty policy.

X61T: L7500, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, XGA screen, Ultrabase
W550s: 5600U, K620M at 1164/1281, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 3K touchscreen

Thanks for the answer!

I will try to negociate with the local computer store guys to test and see if the 1.35 ram works, and if it does, I will buy them and return here with a reply. 16 RAM I think it should be OK for a laptop.

Thanks for letting me know about the Corsair's personality problem with ThinkPads :) good to know!

what's the constat?

- are DDR3L memory modules work?

- are 16GB (2x8GB) work too?

- what kind of memory did you tried and you are sure it's work for you

thanks for the answer
