Lenovo ThinkPad L480 touchpad goes crazy

2018-09-08, 12:40 PM

Hello, I have been using this laptop for 2 weeks and I noticed only one problem and thats touchpad. Its small but annoying problem, sometimes when I turn my laptop on and mouse goes crazy, cursors starts blinking and stays in the top left corner and all I need to do is to restart the laptop and the problem is solved. I do not know what to do I tried installing latest drivers but it did not help, any suggestions? I also had a problem with trackpad, occasionally the mouse would move on its own I just disabled trackpad in BIOS and problem is solved now. My OS is Windows 10 64bit.

Hi

Are you the TrackPoint (Pointing styk) user? If none, I suggest you to go to BIOS setting and disable the TrackPoint by BIOS. Your TrackPoint device may initialize sometimes and will cause Track Pad works bad.

  • Power on your ThinkPad
  • Press F1 to enter System Setup
  • Select Config, then Keyboard/Mouse
  • TrackPoint > Disabled
  • Press F10 to save and exit, press enter to select yes to Save configuration
    changes and exit now

Hope it can help.
