SL510 DDR3 Ram upgrade

2016-06-14, 3:02 AM

I just installed a ADATA DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 4GB ram in my SL510. But when i trun it on, the screen was black and nothing display. There is also no "Bee Bee" sound from the motherboard. I checked the DVD-ROM can eject so I confirmed that the power supply is OK.

Can anyone tell me what happen? Thanks.

I have never had compatibility problems with ADATA, but sometimes it happens.  I assume you added the ADATA RAM in the 2nd slot.  Does it work by itself in slot 1?

In my personal experience this generation ThinkPad is very picky with 12800  modules. I normally try to stick to 10600 ones...
