SM BUS/SM BIOS Service

2008-01-21, 19:56 PM
I have 16 new R61 laptops that I have to reinstall corporate XP. I have all drivers except SM Bus and SM BIOS service. This is the only error in my device manager and comparing to another OEM laptop this is the one device missing.

I have installed/ looked everywhere to install this service, but still cannot find anything. I have installed Intel Chipset utility, still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You need to install the Atmel TPM driver.

It's available for download at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-58054

The SMBIOS is only used at the factory. If you get an error, it's because one of the values was left blank during testing. It makes no difference in system operation.
