Re:ThinkPad L14 BIOS: Power-On Password didn't work

2021-04-13, 6:02 AM

Hi SergiiS

We still were not able to replicate issue with same hardware configuration system.

Is your system factory shipped image or customized image?

do you connect any external device or install any encryption or decryption software?

Could you share screen of your device manager?

and I found a device icon in the picture you provided? so what's this?

Thanks.

Hi SergiiS

Thanks for your information. Does issue happen with  USB hub connected or it is nothing to do with USB hub?  Thanks.

- In all cases. With or without

May virtual RAM disk conflicted with your drivers? Just another idea, but anyway I think something wrong in BIOS

Also I prepared list of all installed updates and programs.

Thanks!

Hi SergiiS

We checked the information your provided but still couldn't identify the cause,  and we still couldn't reproduce issue.

Could you please check if HDD password works?

Could you remove AC adapter and press power button over 8s to reset EC, then see if it is helped?

how many fail systems do you have? only one?

And I suggest you send system to local service center to check if anything wrong on system main board. Thanks.

Hi Davey,

Could you please check if HDD password works?

Could you remove AC adapter and press power button over 8s to reset EC, then see if it is helped?

- The same result :(

how many fail systems do you have? only one?

- Only one. This notebook using for personal use.

And I suggest you send system to local service center to check if anything wrong on system main board.

- Will do if next BIOS version provide the same wrong result.

Thanks for your assist.

With regards, Sergii
