Thinkpad L14 outer case broken

2021-04-17, 10:37 AM

Hi!

This morning my Thinkpad L14 fell off from the desk and the outer case now has some cracks (see the photos) but the system still operates.

I have an Onsite warranty, do you know if this type of damage is covered by this warranty?

If not, where can I replace the outer case privately and how much it will cost approximately? Do you know of any cover for Thinkpad L14?

Thank you!

FF

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately this sort of repair is covered only if you have Accidental-Damage-Protection.

You can get some idea of what is involved to replace the broken parts by going to L14 (type 20U1, 20U2) Laptops (ThinkPad), then

1. Looking in the L14 Gen 1 and L15 Gen 1 Hardware Maintenance Manual to see how to disassemble/reassemble the cover.

2. Looking up the required parts using Parts.
