Thinkpad L15 ryzen 4750U is slow sluggish and lacks power when battery is removed

2021-01-13, 17:57 PM

I have a L15 20u7 on windows 1809 up to date version 10.0.17763.1697. All drivers and BIOS are up to date. BIOS is  BIOS/Date    LENOVO R19ET30W (1.14 ), 30/11/2020

Since I use the laptop as a desktop, i removed the internal battery but now the power is limited to 16 watts. The computer is slow. In fact slower than on AC+battery.

Please correct this behavior.

Hi Oklee,

Most laptops aren't designed to run at full speed without the battery.

I have full power with no battery, ie only AC, with my x201, x260 and L390. And it's moronic to limit power to 16 watts when there is no battery anyway. The team of the L15 should check the BIOS and correct the behavior.
