Make your Vista recovery set before you do anything else. This forum is filled with posts from people wanting Vista back and needing recovery discs.
Then go here and get all the drivers for your machine and put them on cd's.
Then find an XP Pro cd and install.
Either you will have to slipstream the SATA driver to the XP cd or go into the BIOS and set the SATA to compatibility mode in order to see a hard drive to install on.
Then after the install you can install System Update and it will finish installing any Lenovo software or drivers that you want.
