Would like to upgrade major componets....but how?

2008-03-12, 19:34 PM
I would like to upgrade some specific parts of my new R61i. Is it possible to ship my laptop back to Lenovo and have the parts replaced? i would like a better monitor and possibly a faster cpu. If there is also some type of exchange policy on laptops(or parts) i would be very interested in that as well.
I am a Industrial Designer and need a good LCD monitor with accurate, vivid and bright colors but wasn't aware of the quality i was getting for my money. I don't mind paying for the new parts and would greatly appreciate a parts list or some similar type of info that would be compatible with my current hardware.
I am very confident with computer hardware but i also don't want to void my warranty.

See the Lenovo return policy here --> Return a product, - AFAIK Lenovo doesn't upgrade just specific parts, that would be for sure always a too big logistic effort.

if you don't mind paying for the parts.... then surely you could afford a new laptop... just get a top of the line model.... its probably going to be cheaper that way..... changing monitors and stuffs cost more than getting a laptop than itself.... a T61p is not that expensive right now...... just get that.... or a better R61 series......
