Adding optical drive to L440 that wasn't built with one?

Have an L440 that was built without an optical drive. There are a lot of drives available from Ebay & Amazon for the L440 but will a unit built without a drive accept a drive and work?

Welcome to the forum!

Did you buy a second hand L440? Do you have a hard drive caddy or any other device where the optical drive should be?

The L440 series have a fixed "Serial UltraBay Slim" slot, so any optical drive with that characteristic should work, unless of course there is a defect on your device.

Thanks for the quick and knowledgeable reply. The L440 is a second hand purchase and I never thought to check if the unit had an optical drive or not.
I ordered a drive off Ebay today. Thanks!
