Battery Recondition does not work

When I try to run battery recondition it doesn't work.

I have an R51 with a Li-ion battery.

It will only come up to about 50% of original capacity.

Charge cycles are 288.

I am running the XP

I have also tried this program on my original standard battery it won't run on that one either.

Any suggestions?

Re: Battery Recondition does not work

battery recondition is simply let the battery run out and then fully recharge. Recondition can really repair damaged battery cells.

How old is your battery, and is the new battery OEM or aftermarket?

Re: Battery Recondition does not work

The battery is OEM and first use was 8-2004 so it is 5 years old, but that still doesn't explain why the program to recondition stopped working. The last known recondition is showing as 6-2007. I have been manually reconditioning but can't do any better than get it to 50%f original capacity.

Re: Battery Recondition does not work

reconditioning simply resets the battery and preven memory effect, but it does not reverse permanent battery cell degradation... Li-ion battery doesn't last forever, they do die eventually... after 5 years with 50% original charge, that is pretty good.... my 5 year batteries have mostly died and holds 40% battery max.

Try downloading the latest power management driver.

Re: Battery Recondition does not work

usually Li-ion battery looses charge capacity when charging when it is at full capacity, that is when it is at 99% and system is trying to charge at 100% when plugged to wall.

my battery was working fine till january 2009, and it has 6 years old, and I have never used recondition tool (4 hours of working with standard programs, not high-end as CAD or rendering tools). But with newer versions of Power Management Tools, I can't assign the percentage at which i want to start charging, that is the reason why my battery has lost his high capacity to above 60% approx.

i want to know how I can set the system to start charging battery when it is at 75% capacity, as it was set with older PM tools till last year.

For reconditioning battery, I did it manually two times let my system compsuming all battery charge (lower than 1%, till system stops) and then charging it to its full capacity.
