Bezel screws

Hi. I have an L530 and I broke the LCD screen. I purchased a new screen but I cannot figure out where the screws are supposed to be hidden on my particular model.

Yes, I've seen the document regarding the location on the Lenovo website but on mine, those screws don't exist. Everything is smooth, consistent, no gaps at all. I can open it everywhere except where the screws are supposed to be. I shine a light from above and I don't see screws behind the bezel. Could my laptop not have screws? Has anyone else seen this? I just don't want to break and have to replace the bezel too. Thanks.

Re: Bezel screws

Welcome to the forum!

The screws are covered by plastic screw caps, you need to remove them first, I normally use a flat small screwdriver to carefully pull it out.

See the picture below for reference, the screw cap is on the left of the hinge.

Re: Bezel screws

Sadly the training video does not discuss removing the screw caps. It is quietly stated in  the sidescreen. Remove screws and caps.   How about caps, then screws.

Thanks TAS.

Re: Bezel screws

I did know that the screws were supposed to be under caps. But in reality on my machine, the caps were plastic stickers so thin it was almost impossible to pry them up. I did get it though. I used a knife and pretty much destroyed the caps, but I didn't break the bezel which is what I was concerned about. Thanks for all the help. Also the training videos wanted me to remove the LCD panel from the laptop before removing the screen itself. I skipped all that by removing the 4 screws on the side of the LCD screen that was holding it in place. There was a plastic tab in the way of one of them. So I just broke it off and then removed the screen. It wasn't something important. Its all fixed and I'm up and running again.

Re: Bezel screws

Excellent! You may be able to find the caps in eBay or Amazon (or similar pages).

Enjoy your new screen!  :-)
