Can't change screen brightness after latest Win10 feature update

I just installed the latest Win10 Feature update and now I can't change the screen brightness.  I have a Thinkpad SL510.  Any Ideas.?

Re: Can't change screen brightness after latest Win10 feature update

This is just a stab in the dark, but try disabling Adaptive Brightness in the Advanced Power settings.

  • Left-click Start, type Control Panel, and then select Control Panel from the search results
  • Select Power Options
  • Select "Change Plan Settings" for the power setting you are actively using
  • Select "Advanced Power Settings"
  • In the Power Options window, open Display and try tweaking the options such as Adaptive Brightness etc.

Since that is an older laptop, Lenovo has moved it to its End of Life Portal, so no new driver or BIOS updates will likely be made for it, so hopefully the Display settings will work for you.

Best of luck,

Sorry no help...I might have to back this update out (if I can) to get brightness control back.  Maybe someone else has a different idea...
