I have notebook: model Lenovo ThinkPad SL500 2746-9AG with 15.4" lcd anti-glare screen WSXGA+ 1680x1050.
I'd like to have a cristal clear screen at resolusion 1280x800. In XP I turn on a clear type font and the effect is quite better, but quality of the screen isn't the same like at 1680x1050. Perhaps it's gonna to be accustomed to this state.
I think to change my lcd to another 1280x800 anti-glare lcd.
Which model of lcd's will fit in?
I don't want to unmount my notebook to know an exactly number and look at the pins of connections, however it's better to be 100% sure.
I found in manual FRU no. 43Y9687 and in home everest: id LEN4053 producent LP154WE2-TLA5. google told mi it's LG/Philips manufactury.
I still have almost 2 years quaranty on this notebook.
Will be very cost change lcd screen matrix from theoretically better wsxga+ 1680x1050 to worst wxga 1280x800?

I have the opposite problem. I have the 1280x800 wxga screen. Have you purchased the new screen yet? I would be willling to pay shipping for both of the screens to swap. This way, you can get the screen you want at no cost.
I bought the laptop a week before christmas, so its only about 4 months old. I dont actually use the screen (i have a 24inch lcd hooked up to it) so the lid stays closed. The screen is in perfect condition. Let me know what you think

Those 2 models of lcd screen that I wrote early are compatibile each others. I've already change the matrix in my notebook and am very happy. Thank's for interesting. Additionally the matrixes have standard 30-pin philips connections. Bye. Leszek.
