This weekend I restored a ThinkPad R51 (1830 BRG) to it's factory settings (Win XP Pro), installed service packs 2,3 and the other windows KB patches and hotfixes until everything was up to date according to MS, removed Norton AV 2004, installed a more recent AV application and last but not least Eudora 220.127.116.11 (paid mode) which proofed in the past to work fine on Win XP sp3.
Sending a test e-mail caused a BSOD informing me about a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error.
I suspected a driver incompatibility with sp3 so I tried to use IBM Update Connector (version 6.0) to find the latest drivers. Clicking on the Check for Updates button opened an error window telling me: "An error occurred connecting with the IBM Help Center" I rechecked it after disabling my firewall and AV software.
On the R51, 1830 BRG, OS Win XP Pro Download & Software page I clicked on the Run Auto-Detect button but received again an error message: "Could not detect a supported operating system". I connected to this support page using IE 8.0.6001.18702.
