Does returning my R60 to factory state using the Rescue and Recovery console (I have the discs as well), not only reinstall my O/S, but also reformat the harddrive? With my desktop computer, it is necessary to delete all files off my hard drive before reinstalling windows to ensure that hidden viruses are removed. I had, in the past just restalled windows without deleting the files/reformatting just to have the problems to quickly return.

then install the computer from CD/DVD.
This procedure will wipe the whole hdd to a clean medium.

You mean, using the discs that Lenovo sent me instead of Recue and Recovery? There is one disc labeled "Rescue and Recovery" and 5 that are labeled "Product Recovery".?
