Enable 'Extreme Memory Profiles' on Thinpad L380 Yoga?

Hello. I just upgraded my RAM from 2400MHz to 3200MHz. In 'Task Mananger' it still shows 2400. How to i enable the higher speed? Have been looking through the BIOS to find EMP, but with no results. Please help

Hi @Aabol!

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums.

The system clocks will depend on the processor memory controller, some processor can hold up to 2400MHz only for DDR4 memory. Refer to this link from Intel. Hence, if you'll purchase a DDR4 memory with 3200MHz the system will down clock it to 2400MHz specially if your Proccessor is Intel® Core™ i7-8550U.

Hope these helps.

Re: Enable 'Extreme Memory Profiles' on Thinkpad L380 Yoga?

Thanks for the information. The machine has an i5-8250U processor. Found that it only supports up to 2400MHz. Wondering if it causes any problems? After upgrading the RAM, the fan has a lot of noise. Have updated everything through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update.
