Help, SL510 keyboard, trackpoint and trackpad not working after cleaning

2012-11-11, 16:58 PM

Long story short, someone spilled liquid on my keyboard. I took it apart, removed the keyboard, soaked it in a water (with a tiny bit of hand soap) solution to clean it. Let it dry for 5 days. Reinstalled the keyboard and neither the keyboard or trackpoint work at all.

The funny thing is the trackpad below the keyboard doesn't work either, yet I never removed it because it is a seperate entity and is not even connected to the keyboard so I have no idea why that would not work either.

I have looked all around the motherboard for any signs of the liquid on it and its clean as a whistle so I am confused why at the very least the trackpad does not work. A usb keybard and mouse work fine, and when I am in windows and I removed the HID compliant keyboard and re-scan it finds the HID compliant keyboard again so it knows its there.

What else can I try?
