Hello, I have just bought for my father lenovo thinkpad sl500.
This model has got 2 graphic chips - integrated Intel GMA X4500, NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS.
I switched the HDD for 500 gig one and installed fresh windows.
1. issue - I cannot find drivers for SL500 - 404 - File or directory not found so i had to download them via switching between sl400,300,500C
2. I cannot switch to integrated Intel GMA X4500, laptop runs automatically on NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS.
I would like to use only gma x4500 for longer battery life.
OS win 7.

Hello and welcome,
I'll report that 404 in the support site feedback board. I see it too
I can't confim (my BIOS simulator doesn't include the SL500) but there may be an "integrated only" option in BIOS. Have you checked there?

Thanks you guys for a fast response.
I have updated bios to the latest version but not a model version.
I will not lie, this was my first bios update ever, there is no such opinion as "integrated only".

It has been a while ago, but from my times using switchable graphs for the T400/T500 models, I recall that the Power Manager was in charge of this. I'm not sure if this is the case for the SL500 as well.
Try installing and running Lenovo's System Update (Link: click me!), and choose to install the Power Management package, once installed, you should see the icon on the taskbar, right click on it to check if you see an option to switch the graphic card.

I will try is as soon as possible. I forgot that laptop has got a Intel Cantiga sticker, Ihave found drivers for this build which contains Intel hd sound and gma drivers but it only re-install Geforce drivers.

Hi guys, sorry for late response. I have tried it and with zero changes. I have also tried another drivers from other laptop manufactors for my chipset. It just refuse to instal GMA drivers. It always ends with an error - This computer does not meet the minimum requirements.
