L13 Yoga fan noise

2019-12-20, 7:29 AM

Hello,

i just received my brand new L13 Yoga.

Did all Lenovo Vantage updates and Windows update to 1909 with latest patches.

Now i wonder why the fan rpm is so heavy when i am only on the desktop or browsing.

My "old" T460s does not have these fan noise, its silent.

Tried all things i could find/google about this problem, but it does not help.

Very anoying.

Any other suggestions ?

Hi !

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums.

Kindly follow these troubleshooting steps from our support website and observe if you'll see any changes.

If the issue still persist, open BIOS and try to change the Scheme for AC to Balanced under Configuration > Power.

Access Safe Mode as well and observe if the fan will run at a higher than expected speed.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Hello,

thanks for that.

From my feeling i would say this has changed nothing.

I am using the devices in the company and now i have a X390 Yoga with the same behavior.

When plugged in over AC fan speed increases and noise is terrible when sitting in front of it.

I only use RDP and Chrome for internet browsing. CPU is bored.
