L380 Yoga screen dim in the middle area

2020-01-22, 23:55 PM

Hi,

My L380 Yoga's screen is dim in the middle area only when the screen reaches the lowest possible brightness settings. It is more visible in the bottom part of the middle area and from there it becomes narrower as it reaches the top part of the screen. I've included several pictures of the screen at the lowest brightness. Do I simply need to contact the Premier Support and ask for a screen replacement?

Hi !

Thanks for bringing this to us. Before reach our phone support team you may try the LCD DeadPixel Test and access BIOS utility settings if the screen was still dim in the middle of the screen it's possible that issue is likely to be hardware related.

Thank you for the reply!

I tried the LCD DeadPixel Test that you linked and had the same result as my earlier pictures showed. As for the BIOS utility settings, what should I do with it? Which settings do I need to go to and what do I do?

If you're seeing the same dim display in BIOS utility settings then that's definitely a hardware problem.
