L390 has a hot cpu after sleep. please tell the l390 team

When I resume the computer from sleep, the cpu generates too much heat, even though the cpu is at idle. THe ''power package'' is at least 8 watts instead of the usual 3 watts.
I think it comes from a bug in some driver by  intel or lenovo PM device. Can you notify the team for the L390 ? do they see the bug ?

THis is the config
-l390  20NR

-plugged to the power adapter
-windows 10 1809
-all drivers are up to date with Lenovo\System Update

how to see the bug:
-boot the computer
-let the computer idle
-go to standby or sleep [shorcut Fn+f4]

-go to sleep for 10 minutes or even a whole night
-wake up
-notice the power package is around 8 watts and the fan speed when the BIOS controls it is at 0 rpm
-the only way to fix this is to reboot the computer

Re: L390 has a hot cpu after sleep. please tell the l390 team

with drivers

-Lenovo PM device 1.67.16.20 from n2hku03w_x64.exe from here https://support.lenovo.com/fr/fr/downloads/ds505267

-Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Manager 8.5.10103.7263

i get the same thing ie

-boot

-sleep for 10 minutes

-cpu is hot around 8 watts

-sleep for 10 minutes then wake up

-resume and this time the cpu goes back to 3 watts

however, the fan is still at 0 rpm when the fan is controlled by the BIOS

Re: L390 has a hot cpu after sleep. please tell the l390 team

I found the source of the problem: it comes form the awful video driver by intel.

First I wanted to see if the change of ''pwoer scheme''' by windows, in configuration panel'' would reduce the PKG power. It runs out that ''balanced'' and ''power saving'' did reduce the powr to 1 watt. However, to use throttlestop, i use ''high performance'' scheme, so i decided to create a duplicate of this ''high performance'' and I modified the power scheme of the VIDEO card under ''ac power'' and ''battery''

the default setting was ''maximal performance'', but then i choose the ''maximal autonomy'' and the power dropped.

Re: L390 has a hot cpu after sleep. please tell the l390 team

after the change in intel GUi for the dvideo driver, I get

-lowest pkg power = 1watt before sleep

-lowest pkg power = 2 watts after sleep

so it is not  perfect and 1 watt on a tiny laptop is huge. please correct the bug.

Re: L390 has a hot cpu after sleep. please tell the l390 team

So I tested intel video driver   26.20.100.6999         r10d209w      01      2019/09/17 and also updated r10ti05w.exe for PD feature.

-boot

-idle for 5 minutes, power minimal is 0,8 W

-sleep for 10 minutes

-wake up

-idle power is 0,8W again

this seems to work well now.
