2019-10-14, 17:36 PM

Hello evrybody ,

l520 thinkpad bios configuration shows sata mode Compatibility or AHCI . Today Compatibility is set and Disk management shows "IDE" for my hdd . If I set AHCI it doesnt work . If I plug a sata disk from an other working ok Pc , the startup hangs on the windows flag .

Could someone  tell me what L520 support as hdd : ide , sata , ssd ???? How should I set up the bios ? thank you .

Hi Hortus! Welcome to our forums community. Your Thinkpad L520 came along with the HDD SATA and you can refer to the detailed specs here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd015792.

In the BIOS, you need to disable the Secure Boot, the boot option should be Legacy only, disable OS Optimization and the CSM should be set to YES. Hope this works for you.
