L560 I219-LM sending multiple source MAC addresses

[ Edited ]

Hi guys,

We have Cisco switches with port security and 802.1x authentication.

Since starting to deploy L560 laptops (all using docking stations), on ports that have port security setup (limit to 1 MAC address on the port), our ports are being disbaled by port security due to more than 1 MAC address being seen on those ports. Example MAC addresses are below.

4889.1849.59b7

f84c.6bd3.0000

Trying to do a MAC address lookup on these addresses, the OUI is coming back as not registered.

Where are these MAC addresses coming from?

Were you ever able to find a solution to this issue?  We are currently experiencing this with an L560 as well.

Re: L560 I219-LM sending multiple source MAC addresses

There is a firmware update for the NIC on the drivers page. I think it's the GBe NVM updater.

We've had it since January due to having widespread issues. If you have update retriever and System Update/ThinInstaller, the update can be rolled out easily.

That should sort out the problem

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
