I was thinking about buying a L580 and was wondering if I can add a SSD to the hard drive. From what I've read, I can do this using a PCIe 2242 drive to the WWAN/SSD slot, but I'd like to know before I spend the money. Thanks for any help.

Hello and welcome,
The base spec looks promising:
Some: 128GB M.2 SSD / PCIe NVMe, PCIe 3.0 x 2, 16Gb/s,
in WWAN slot as 2nd Storage, mutually exclusive with WWAN
Note that it has to be a 2242 PCIe/NVMe m.2 SSD and those are scarce as hen's teeth lately. The go-to Tosh RC100 doesn't seem to be available. There may be other options out there. The 128GB mentioned is the size that Lenovo provides. It's not a limitation to what a user could install, if they can find an appropriate part.
